This facsimile edition known as the Abbeville Press Edition of John James Audubons Birds of America was produced from the National Audubon Societys original double elephant folio, issued between 1827 and 1839. Printed and published in japan on watermarked Mohawk Superfine, which is an acid-free paper made exclusively for this edition. The watermark runs down the outside edge of each print and bears the Audubon Societys name, a little bird image and Abbeville Press and is about one inch high and runs the length of the paper. The set was limited to 350 copys and was completed in 1985. The set which we have for sale is number 150. Each print is approximately 39.5 inches by 26.5 inches. A few of the prints have slight flaws which I will try to note in the description adjusted price accordingly. We can also custom frame these images for you.
